Plastic Closure Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average plastic closure import price amounted to $6,669 per ton, waning by -8.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 8.1% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $7,258 per ton in June 2023, and then fell in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($13,963 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($2,713 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plastic Closure Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average plastic closure export price amounted to $7,047 per ton, increasing by 7.7% against the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 15% against the previous month. The export price peaked in July 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was France ($12,106 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($3,691 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plastic Closure Imports in Poland
In 2022, imports of plastic stoppers, caps and closures into Poland was estimated at 55K tons, increasing by 4.1% compared with 2021 figures. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 9.5%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, plastic closure imports dropped modestly to $352M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 25%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $366M, and then declined modestly in the following year.

Plastic Closure Exports in Poland

The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 12% against the previous year.
In value terms, plastic closure exports dropped modestly to $305M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +9.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 18%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $305M, leveling off in the following year.
