Pasta Products Price in Azerbaijan (CIF) - 2023
The average pasta products import price stood at $1,881 per ton in September 2023, with an increase of 10% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 42% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $2,875 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Russia ($2,254 per ton), while the price for Iran ($450 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Pasta Products Price in Azerbaijan (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average pasta products export price amounted to $600 per ton, with an increase of 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 148%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,530 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Georgia.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Georgia amounted to +6.6% per year.
Pasta Products Imports in Azerbaijan
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in supplies from abroad of dried, undried and frozen pasta and pasta products, when their volume decreased by -3.5% to 4.1K tons. In general, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.5% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +50.3% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 4.2K tons, and then declined slightly in the following year.
In value terms, pasta products imports surged to $8.6M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a significant increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, pasta products exports soared to $1M in 2022. Overall, exports enjoyed a significant expansion.
