Non-Cane Molasses Price in Peru (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average non-cane molasses import price amounted to $1,479 per ton, dropping by -11.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 58% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,674 per ton, and then fell in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($2,716 per ton), while the price for the United States ($747 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+20.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average non-cane molasses export price stood at $1,770 per ton in 2022, jumping by 93% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate moderate growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 222% against the previous year. In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of molasses (excluding cane molasses), when their volume increased by 16% to 9.1 tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, faced a deep contraction.
