Metal Self-Locking Nut Price in South Africa (CIF) - 2023
The average metal self-locking nut import price stood at $4,444 per ton in July 2023, declining by -22.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 129% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $7,019 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($17,319 per ton), while the price for the Philippines ($1,618 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Metal Self-Locking Nut Price in South Africa (FOB) - 2022
The average metal self-locking nut export price stood at $6,037 per ton in 2022, reducing by -3.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $6,262 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mozambique (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
