Mandarins Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022

The average mandarins import price stood at $689 per ton in January 2022, picking up by 3.4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2021 an increase of 29% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,039 per ton in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to January 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($1,226 per ton), while the price for Georgia ($563 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Mandarins Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average mandarins export price amounted to $385 per ton, with a decrease of -6.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $694 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($745 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($165 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (-2.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Mandarins Imports in Russia

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in supplies from abroad of fruit, edible, when their volume decreased by -1.5% to 651K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 17% against the previous year.

In value terms, mandarins imports contracted slightly to $449M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 7.4%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $466M, and then declined in the following year.

Mandarins Exports in Russia

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in shipments abroad of fruit, edible, when their volume decreased by -3.6% to 8.7K tons. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 7.8%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 9K tons, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, mandarins exports declined to $3.3M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year.
