Mandarin and Clementine Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
In September 2022, the average mandarin and clementine import price amounted to $1,835 per ton, reducing by -9.7% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated noticeable growth from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, mandarin and clementine import price decreased by -21.0% against May 2022 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2022 an increase of 42% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,324 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Australia ($2,010 per ton), while the price for China ($1,260 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+10.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Mandarin and Clementine Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022
In September 2022, the average mandarin and clementine export price amounted to $1,731 per ton, which is down by -5.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a perceptible expansion from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, mandarin and clementine export price decreased by -22.2% against June 2022 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2022 an increase of 51% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $2,225 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to September 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Brunei Darussalam ($2,724 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($1,564 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Mandarin and Clementine Imports in Singapore
In 2022, approx. 22K tons of tangerines, mandarins, clementines, satsumas were imported into Singapore; waning by -4.8% on the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 43% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 23K tons, and then declined modestly in the following year.
