In 2022, the average leek export price amounted to $4,290 per ton, increasing by 11% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, leek export price increased by +84.9% against 2015 indices. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($5,702 per ton), while the average price for exports to New Caledonia ($2,744 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+11.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Leek Exports in Australia
In 2022, leek exports from Australia fell sharply to 99 tons, dropping by -22.7% against 2021 figures. Overall, exports recorded a perceptible setback.
