Insulating Board Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022
The average insulating board import price stood at $337 per cubic meter in January 2022, reducing by -7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a noticeable expansion from January 2021 to January 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on January 2022 figures, insulating board import price decreased by -16.3% against September 2021 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2021 when the average import price increased by 44% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $403 per cubic meter. From October 2021 to January 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($314 per cubic meter), while the price for Poland ($279 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Insulating Board Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average insulating board export price amounted to $253 per cubic meter, shrinking by -12.6% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, insulating board export price increased by +24.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 67% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $306 per cubic meter. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($549 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($199 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+26.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Insulating Board Imports in Russia
In 2022, imports of insulating board into Russia fell to 34K cubic meters, with a decrease of -11.8% against the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 39K cubic meters, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, insulating board imports shrank significantly to $9.5M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a noticeable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +31.0% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 62%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $12M, and then plummeted in the following year.

Insulating Board Exports in Russia
After three years of growth, shipments abroad of insulating board decreased by -13.3% to 5.9K cubic meters in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 142% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at 6.8K cubic meters in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, insulating board exports contracted notably to $1.5M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 110%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $2M in 2021, and then shrank significantly in the following year.
