Hardboard Price in the UK (CIF) - 2023
The average hardboard import price stood at $1,016 per cubic meter in June 2023, with a decrease of -3.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2022 an increase of 21% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,194 per cubic meter; afterwards, it flattened through to June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($1,354 per cubic meter), while the price for Lithuania ($538 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Latvia (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Hardboard Price in the UK (FOB) - 2023
The average hardboard export price stood at $1,439 per cubic meter in June 2023, picking up by 11% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 186% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $1,528 per cubic meter in June 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($2,470 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Spain ($697 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ireland (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Hardboard Imports in the UK
Hardboard imports into the UK contracted sharply to 119K cubic meters in 2022, falling by -46.3% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports showed a sharp descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 3.8% against the previous year. Imports peaked at 240K cubic meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, hardboard imports dropped rapidly to $113M in 2022. Overall, imports showed a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 6.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $183M in 2021, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

Hardboard Exports in the UK
