Hardboard Price in Japan (FOB) - 2022
The average hardboard export price stood at $2,927 per cubic meter in 2022, remaining constant against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted a moderate increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 71% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $3,829 per cubic meter in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($3,330 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) amounted to $1,212 per cubic meter.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Hardboard Price in Japan (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average hardboard import price amounted to $1,316 per cubic meter, declining by -4.3% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. Hardboard Exports in Japan
In 2022, the amount of hardboard exported from Japan dropped sharply to 217 cubic meters, reducing by -45.5% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, exports saw a abrupt decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 2.1%.
