Gypsum and Anhydrite Price in Serbia (CIF) - 2022
The average gypsum and anhydrite import price stood at $33 per ton in 2022, waning by -8% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 16% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $36 per ton in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($37 per ton), while the price for North Macedonia ($31 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Croatia (+14.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Gypsum and Anhydrite Price in Serbia (FOB) - 2022
The average gypsum and anhydrite export price stood at $1,306 per ton in 2022, growing by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 206%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,338 per ton; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Greece ($2,113 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($272 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Greece (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Gypsum and Anhydrite Imports in Serbia
In 2022, overseas purchases of gypsum and anhydrite decreased by -57.3% to 20K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports saw a precipitous curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 26%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 61K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, gypsum and anhydrite imports dropped remarkably to $670K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a precipitous setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $2.1M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
