Green Coffee Price in Bulgaria (CIF) - 2023

In July 2023, the average green coffee import price amounted to $3,379 per ton, reducing by -9.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 12% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,745 per ton, and then reduced in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Brazil ($4,350 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($2,685 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Green Coffee Price in Bulgaria (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average green coffee export price amounted to $2,470 per ton, dropping by -22.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $6,135 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Georgia ($9,916 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($1,044 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Georgia (+14.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Green Coffee Imports in Bulgaria

In 2022, the amount of coffee (green) imported into Bulgaria reduced to 25K tons, falling by -11.6% on 2021 figures. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt setback. The smallest decline of -5.7% was in 2021.

In value terms, green coffee imports soared to $88M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
