Green Coffee Price in Bangladesh (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average green coffee import price amounted to $5,137 per ton, leveling off at the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a slight setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $5,973 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($9,469 per ton), while the price for the United States ($651 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average green coffee export price amounted to $2,884 per ton, reducing by -15.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a noticeable decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 69%. The export price peaked at $3,893 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($2,619 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK stood at $2,242 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (-7.2%).
Green Coffee Imports in Bangladesh
In 2022, approx. 119 tons of coffee (green) were imported into Bangladesh; dropping by -27.1% on 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 118%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 163 tons, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, green coffee imports shrank remarkably to $609K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 127%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $846K, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
