Ghee Price in Peru (CIF) - 2021
The average ghee import price stood at $4,978 per ton in April 2020, shrinking by -5.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced setback. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $5,420 per ton. From February 2020 to April 2020, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for New Zealand.
From January 2020 to April 2020, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Argentina amounted to 0.0% per month.
Ghee Price in Peru (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average ghee export price amounted to $2,467 per ton, with an increase of 46% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a drastic downturn. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $9,054 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Ecuador.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Ecuador amounted to -9.7% per year.
Ghee Imports in Peru
In 2022, imports of ghee into Peru soared to 7.5K tons, rising by 30% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +13.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -18.9% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 58%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $45M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
