Fiberboard Price in Norway (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average fiberboard import price amounted to $204 per cubic meter, reducing by -8.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 24% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $269 per cubic meter. From August 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($250 per cubic meter), while the price for Poland ($143 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fiberboard Price in Norway (FOB) - 2023
In September 2023, the average fiberboard export price amounted to $287 per cubic meter, shrinking by -2.3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 12% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $321 per cubic meter. From August 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($423 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($189 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Finland (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fiberboard Imports in Norway
In 2022, the amount of fiber board of wood or other ligneous materials imported into Norway contracted sharply to 553K cubic meters, waning by -23.3% against the year before. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 3.4% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 720K cubic meters, and then fell dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, fiberboard imports reduced to $132M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $142M, and then declined in the following year.

Fiberboard Exports in Norway
