Dried Mushroom Price in Norway (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average dried mushroom import price amounted to $31,277 per ton, growing by 39% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $32,663 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($83,903 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($13,913 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+13.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Dried Mushroom Price in Norway (FOB) - 2022

The average dried mushroom export price stood at $9,665 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -36.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 76% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $20,403 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($16,101 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($400 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+123.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Dried Mushroom Imports in Norway

In 2022, overseas purchases of dried mushrooms and truffles decreased by -31% to 32 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports showed a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 19% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 47 tons, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

In value terms, dried mushroom imports fell to $1M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 26%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $1.1M, and then declined modestly in the following year.

Dried Mushroom Exports in Norway

In 2022, overseas shipments of dried mushrooms and truffles increased by 105% to 1.2 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, faced a sharp curtailment.

In value terms, dried mushroom exports surged to $11K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep downturn.
