Clementines Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023

In June 2023, the average clementines import price amounted to $1,772 per ton, reducing by -20.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a noticeable increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, clementines import price decreased by -20.3% against May 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 32% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $2,222 per ton in May 2023, and then declined significantly in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($2,750 per ton), while the price for France ($1,228 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Clementines Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023

In July 2023, the average clementines export price amounted to $1,712 per ton, with a decrease of -26.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 when the average export price increased by 34% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $2,626 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Austria ($3,347 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($1,462 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Clementines Imports in Germany

In 2022, supplies from abroad of fruit, edible decreased by -25% to 190K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports saw a deep setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 7%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 255K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, clementines imports reduced sharply to $255M in 2022. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 19%.

In 2022, shipments abroad of fruit, edible decreased by -23.2% to 8.4K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 9.2% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 12K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, clementines exports contracted rapidly to $13M in 2022. In general, exports saw a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 19%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $18M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
