Chlorides; of Nickel Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
The average chlorides; of nickel import price stood at $7,085 per ton in July 2023, standing approximately at the previous month. In general, the import price saw a slight reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 18% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $8,477 per ton. From February 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($7,894 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($6,400 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Chlorides; of Nickel Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2022
The average chlorides; of nickel export price stood at $8,209 per ton in 2022, rising by 54% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($12,815 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iran ($7,999 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+14.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chlorides; of Nickel Imports in Turkey
In 2022, the amount of chlorides; of nickels imported into Turkey shrank markedly to 395 tons, with a decrease of -22.9% on 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 89% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 513 tons, and then fell significantly in the following year.
