Cauliflower and Broccoli Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2023
In May 2023, the average cauliflower and broccoli import price amounted to $1,999 per ton, reducing by -10.3% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated temperate growth from May 2022 to May 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.6% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on May 2023 figures, cauliflower and broccoli import price increased by +95.8% against November 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 50% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,229 per ton in April 2023, and then reduced in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($2,859 per ton), while the price for Bosnia and Herzegovina ($1,123 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cauliflower and Broccoli Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average cauliflower and broccoli export price amounted to $1,100 per ton, which is down by -5.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average export price increased by 77% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,318 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($1,357 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($859 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bosnia and Herzegovina (+11.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cauliflower and Broccoli Imports in Croatia
In 2022, supplies from abroad of cauliflower and broccoli decreased by -5.5% to 4.1K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports continue to indicate a mild descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 10% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 4.7K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, cauliflower and broccoli imports declined to $5.5M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 9%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $6.1M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Cauliflower and Broccoli Exports in Croatia
For the fourth year in a row, Croatia recorded growth in overseas shipments of cauliflower and broccoli, which increased by 18% to 472 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 64% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, cauliflower and broccoli exports rose sharply to $520K in 2022. Overall, exports showed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 185% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
