Bovine Animals; Live Price in Slovakia (FOB) - 2023

In August 2023, the average bovine animals; live export price amounted to $877 per unit, with a decrease of -17.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 26% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,060 per unit, and then contracted notably in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($1,939 per unit), while the average price for exports to Austria ($689 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In July 2023, the average bovine animals; live import price amounted to $1,218 per unit, waning by -4.4% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a tangible increase from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, bovine animals; live import price decreased by -4.4% against June 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 39% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,302 per unit in January 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to July 2023.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($1,358 per unit), while the price for Hungary ($443 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ireland (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
