In June 2023, the average baby food import price amounted to $18,338 per ton, surging by 7% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 7.2% m-o-m. The import price peaked in June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($24,249 per ton), while the price for France ($8,203 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In June 2023, the average baby food export price amounted to $21,866 per ton, which is down by -21.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a slight decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 30% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $28,742 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($34,354 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mauritania ($4,545 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
