Asparagus Price in the Philippines (CIF) - 2022
The average asparagus import price stood at $6,025 per ton in 2022, increasing by 12% against the previous year. Overall, the import price enjoyed a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 95%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($6,026 per ton), while the price for Australia amounted to $6,024 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+32.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Asparagus Price in the Philippines (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average asparagus export price amounted to $3,333 per ton, dropping by -19.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, enjoyed a tangible expansion. Asparagus Imports in the Philippines
In 2022, purchases abroad of asparagus decreased by -3.9% to 794 kg, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 432%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 1.8 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, asparagus imports reached $4.8K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 340%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $7.8K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
