Almond Price in Australia (FOB) - 2023
In September 2023, the average almond export price amounted to $3,396 per ton, reducing by -5.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 48% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $4,997 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($3,483 per ton), while the average price for exports to India amounted to $3,327 per ton.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (-0.3%).
Almond Price in Australia (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average almond import price amounted to $3,277 per ton, growing by 8.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 83%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $5,816 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Afghanistan ($3,973 per ton), while the price for Pakistan amounted to $2,585 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Pakistan (-2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Almond Exports in Australia
Almond exports from Australia fell to 50K tons in 2022, which is down by -2.6% on 2021 figures. Overall, total exports indicated slight growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +60.0% against 2020 indices.
