Exports of Sheep And Goat Meat

Exports in ECOWAS

For the third year in a row, ECOWAS recorded decline in overseas shipments of sheep and goat meat, which decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports showed a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, sheep and goat meat exports fell remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports faced a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Senegal (X tons) represented the main exporter of sheep and goat meat, mixing up X% of total exports. Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Mali (X%).
